Title : Inventory of the Mind

Knowing what you've got, knowing what you need, knowing what you can do without - That's inventory control.
- Frank Wheeler, Revolutionary Road
How often do you find yourself 'spring' cleaning. You declutter your closet, your home but do you declutter your mind?
Artists are considered 'Highly Sensitive Persons'
They have a unique way of processing the world around them.
Their senses are heightened, and they observe things that others may not.
This creates information overload. It shuts us down mentally, sometimes physically.
This is when it is important to declutter your mind and your life. The decluttering process will help you eliminate the extra noise or information in your mind. This process takes practice, time, patience, and motivation. (excerpt from my book 'Revelations' - link in bio if you want to read more)
Remember to take care of yourself when taking care of everything around you.
Keep what you need and let go of the rest.
This is Inventory control.

Title: A Thing of Dreams
Medium: Photography
Date: Nov 22
"The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had' - Lyrics 'Mad World'
Do you have dreams that draw a connection to your current state?
I have often had dreams of falling, but never hitting the ground. Dreams in which I am stepping down the stairs and they just disappear. It's amazing how dreams are so powerful. And when you look up meanings there's always a connection not only with your current state of life but also what is brewing in your mind.
The interpretation: A feeling of inadequacy or a sense that your life is out of control. At the moment I can see why I am having such dreams. Life is out of control, but I am finding a new voice, I'm in search of my calling and even though I am juggling so much at a time I am driven!
I am exploring new things and stepping into unknown territories. I am not afraid, and while I may from time to time face feelings of inadequacy but I find my way through. I am finding new strength and despite my fear of heights I don't fear falling anymore.
Marie is the beating heart of our Magic of Light group and we couldn’t be any more proud of her on her latest achievement of becoming Click Pro!
Even though there is a script in place for this post, I just want to take it a step ahead and let you know how proud I am of you for accomplishing your goal and reaching for your dream!
Someday you will move mountains! It's an honor to be a part of your journey!!!

Title : The End
Date: Feb ‘23
Medium : Photography
Life is temporary. From the day we are born - we are dying. We are all walking different paths to reach the same point.
Embrace everyday and live it as if it were your last. Face those fears and brace for impact. If it doesn’t kill you it will only make you stronger.
Death comes to us all. For dust you are and to dust you shall return.
Welcome to our ✨
We are a group of fine art photographers that will be drawing inspiration from sayings, phrases or quotes interpreting them.
Thank you to all the ladies in the group for inspiring me to get out of my comfort zone and create without fear. It has been an honor to be a part of this journey.

Title: Loss of Innocence
Medium: Photography
Date: Oct 22
“Being brave doesn’t mean you aren’t scared. Being brave means you are scared, really scared, badly scared, and you do the right thing anyway.”
― Neil Gaiman, Coraline
What better day to dress up as your favorite character than HALLOWEEN. I am a HUGE fan of Coraline. As much as I wanted to create an image that was more in sync with the story of Coraline I ended up creating something with a darker meaning (ofcourse)
I won't dive deep into this but - many of us harassed as children grow up with shadows of our past. The culture I grew up in was where most girls were attacked as children and this was considered OK. Because it is a society where the 'man' is always right and women or girls in this case are considered liars.
Been there, dealt with that - often. Didn't know at the time but as I grew up a lot of things made sense. Things that should have been explained to me while I was a child and not hidden until I hit 20. We lose our innocence while searching for ourselves.
Maybe while growing up I had no recollection of this - but now I do. I think my mind wanted to hold on to my childhood for as long as it could. I wish I knew then - I wish I knew what I was dealing with - but here I am today; discovering what I should have known and being haunted by that dark place every now and then.
I urge you to speak up because this will shape our future and make it safer for our kids.

Title: Exploration I
Medium: Photography

"If the dream is a translation of waking life, waking life is also a translation of the dream. ”
- Rene Magritte
As an art student in college I was VERY obsessed with the works of master surrealists. From Magritte to Dali to Breton. To this day I don't know why but I want to create like they did.
I want to be able to distort reality beyond recognition - to make new realities from those distorted images. It's deep inside me, the need to break boundaries and perceptions.
After assessing my body of work I realized I havent gone far enough - not yet. I still cannot forget what I was taught in college and in order to forget and be able to completely break the rules I am going to explore by imitating what the masters did.
I am starting where I will take works of as many surreal painters as I can find and recreate it - while my goal is to create exact images I feel like I can't be content without throwing a little bit of me there.
I invite anyone and everyone who is interested in exploring this project with me - DM me and lets explore together.
