Cancer Nutrition HQ
Empowering cancer patients and survivors with evidence-based nutrition I enjoy wearing many hats as a clinician, educator, scientist, and science communicator.
For many cancer survivors, plain water is enough most days. Electrolytes may be helpful in certain situations like vomiting, diarrhea, or heavy sweating, but other than that, you are likely getting enough from your diet to meet your needs.
Also worth noting: some cancer treatments and conditions can cause swelling or fluid retention, and extra sodium may worsen the issue. Some treatments can also affect kidney function and electrolyte labs, so supplementation is something to be thoughtful about.

Veggies in the morning is a great way to start the day!
The healthy fat from avocado not only makes the meal more filling, it improves the absorption of the beneficial carotenoids in the sweet potato. A great power couple.
