According to the American Psychological Association, 38 % of people say their stress during the holiday season increases. When people living with mental illness were surveyed, 64 % stated they felt their condition worsened during the holiday season.
An increase in stress can lead to physical illness, a depressed mood, feelings of anxiety and substance misuse. In order to combat these challenges consider some of these tips:
*Prioritize Sleep and Rest
*Stay Active
*Create New Traditions
*Make Time For Yourself
*Focus on What You Can Control
*Challenge Unhelpful Thoughts
