Carving Cory

A funky piece based on an old picture of my Nana. She arrived in the US in 1914 from Italy. She was a best friend to me.

This character was originally dreamed up by a brother, and his sister reached out to have him carved in wood as a surprise gift. The bandage, the stance, the expression… it’s all there. Honored to bring someone else’s imagination to life in a whole new medium.

This hand-carved falcon will sit proudly on top of a staff. A custom commission for a shop in Arizona. Looking forward to seeing how it looks when they add it to the staff.
