Today marks the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act—a day that changed history through the power of disability advocacy and collective action.

One in four Americans lives with a disability. Disability is also the only identity anyone can join at any time, which means access and equity are everyone’s issues.

The ADA was a turning point, but our movement for true belonging continues. This Disability Pride Month, let’s honor the courage of those who climbed the steps of the Capitol and every advocate working for dignity, autonomy, and real inclusion.
