Oregon offers a wide range of birding diversity, where seabirds, shorebirds, and alcids are seen from beaches and atop rugged cliffs, warblers sing in deep green forests, and sparrows and thrashers are heard across desert basins. Our "Oregon: From the Coast to the Cascades" tour blazes a path across the state’s many striking landscapes, from the Columbia River Gorge to the ancient caldera of Crater Lake, and from the Wallowa Mountains to the windswept coast. We’ll scan rocky shorelines for Black Oystercatchers and Pigeon Guillemots; we'll bird the eastern slope of the Cascades, hoping for MacGillivray's, Townsend's, and Hermit Warblers; and we'll visit the famed Malheur National Wildlife Refuge for Sagebrush Sparrows and Sage Thrashers. These are just a few of the birds we hope to find among the nearly 200 species we expect.
