This is the REALITY of lightening dark box color or hair that is washed with non-professional shampoos containing metallic salts. This pic was taken 45 minutes after applying lightener. The band of orange is from the previous dark color and this is as far as it would lighten in one session. . if you have dark box color in your hair and your ultimate goal is to be light ashy blonde, be prepared to deal with warm tones before you can even get close to that lightness. I didn’t make the rules. Box color is the enemy and this is the sad reality of what it does to your hair when you want to go blonde. ALSO, when you start a process like this, you MUST USE PROFESSIONALS HAIRCARE. I recommend gold lust shampoo and conditioner to help strengthen and repair between sessions :)
