INCOMING! MEET DEXTER! 🐾
AUSTIN TX

Dexter is an easy going and well behaved charmer looking for a forever home 😍

Dexter is house trained and great with other dogs, cats, and kids 😊

Dexter started life as a lab beagle. Since his freedom day, he has been living for many years in a home with a family.

He was surrendered to us due to a family member having a medical condition unrelated to Dexter.

Dexter is now 10 years old but with the heart and body of a much younger pup!

Our vet tells us he is in great shape! We are not aware of any medical issues.

His foster tells us that he lives life with the enthusiasm and joy of a younger dog. Perhaps making up for his puppy years being spent at a lab 😢

Everywhere Dexter goes, he lights up the room, charms, and steals hearts 💕

You are going to want to meet this very special beagle. Please apply on our website.

CHIPPER HAS BEEN ADOPTED!

We are so happy to share with you that Chipper is home with the most amazing family! We think this adoption photo says it all 🥰

Chipper is our senior beagle who fought off heart worms and a coyote attack. He is one tough beagle!

Despite his struggles, Chipper remained the sweetest and most resilient pup. We are so happy he found such a loving home.

We adore our fosters and adopters who support our senior hounds! Please join us in thanking his foster and congratulating his new family!

From rescue dog to working dog. 🇺🇸🐾

One of our Hound Rescue alumni is now helping protect American agriculture through scent detection work, using those incredible hound instincts for an important purpose every single day.

Dogs like this are proof that rescue dogs are capable of amazing things when given a second chance. From uncertain beginnings to meaningful work, we could not be more proud to watch this journey unfold.

Thank you to everyone who adopts, fosters, donates, and believes in these dogs. You are part of stories like this. ❤️

Aviva’s story started on the side of a Texas highway.

This one-year-old basset hound mix was found wandering alone, covered in fleas and suffering from a painful skin infection caused by nonstop scratching and chewing at her itchy skin. She was stained yellow from sitting in urine for who knows how long before she was finally rescued.

Thanks to our volunteers, Aviva was safely transported to Austin where she received a full veterinary exam, vaccinations, antibiotics, and a much-needed bath. Now she’s finally warm, clean, safe, and resting comfortably in a Hound Rescue foster home.

Every rescue dog comes with medical expenses, and Aviva is no exception. If you’d like to help support her care and recovery, please donate at https://app.betterunite.com/houndrescue-rescuerehabilitaterehome
