DeVos Education Dept. Begins Dismissing Civil Rights Cases in Name of Efficiency The department has begun dismissing civil rights cases brought by “serial” complainants or those that place “an unreasonable burden” on resources.

Please join us this Friday, March 23rd for our regular women in housing breakfast at Curra's Grill, 614 E Oltorf, 8:30 AM. Elaine Hart, who was acting city manager until recently, is scheduled to be with us - She had the flu in January, when she was originally supposed to be with us, so we are hoping to see her Friday.
A group representing awih met with newly appointed city manager Spencer Cronk yesterday to discuss awih concerns about low income tenants and Austin Code. We will hear more about that on Friday and follow up with Ms. Hart.

We've also arranged for some interesting discussions throughout 2018. Coming up will be:

April 27, 2018 - Susana Almanza, PODER regarding many shared interests; and possibly Heather Way & Lauren Loney, UT Law Clinic, regarding their project around preservation of tax credit properties
