Despite what most of the self proclaimed experts online want you to think… nervous system regulation is not about always feeling calm, centered, grounded, happy or comfortable.
Real regulation work is about enhancing your CAPACITY.
This work is really about expanding your Zone of Capacity - as we call it inside of our NeuroSomatics community 🧠
Think of your “Zone of Capacity” as an upgrade to the more well known & taught concept: “Window of Tolerance”.
Because you didn’t come into this life just to tolerate it.
You came to thrive.
And so did your clients.
And in order to truly thrive, you need a nervous system that has the capacity to experience the full range of your human experience.
Not just the happy or the comfortable.
Yes, if you’ve been feeling stuck for months or years… chances are that your system is experiencing dysregulation.
But not every uncomfortable sensation or experience means you’re dysregulated at your core.
Sometimes it means the exact opposite.
Sometimes it’s a beautiful sign that your system is learning that it’s safe to feel more deeply.
So the next time you’re quick to claim dysregulation… pause and notice.
Ask yourself, “Am I truly dysregulated or am I simply feeling more deeply and becoming more aware of what I’m feeling?”
