Did you know I’ve never had a full-time job before?

My only full-time job has been working for myself as a founder and designer at Blades Creative. When I express this to others, I get “Wow, that must be the dream! You get total freedom being your own boss.” And yes, in several ways it IS a dream. I create my own schedule, work with clients and contractors I adore, and create work that is swoon-worthy most days.

The amount of learning I do on a daily basis is one of my favorite parts of being a founder. I’ve learned to maintain a business through many life phases and world circumstances. I’ve gained experience managing multiple clients simultaneously. I’ve become disciplined enough to manage my time, projects, finances, marketing, contractors, and more.

Yes, being an owner can be ideal if the work is consistent and profitable. There are ebbs and flows, and even when you’re slammed you’re preparing for what’s next.

As someone who has taken great pride and identity in running her own business, I never thought getting a full-time or even part-time job was an option. In order for the business to succeed, I felt I must put my whole being into it.

Since moving to the beautiful city of Austin, my priorities have changed. After a lot of processing, I’m finally ready to shout out that I’m prepared for a new stage of my career.

What you need to know and what I hope you share with your network:

✨I’m looking to start a new phase of my career in October 2022.
✨I’m open to full-time / part-time / long-term contract
✨I prefer remote / hybrid
✨I want to be in a design leadership role
✨I’m open to other career paths other than design

So while we ARE going through the great resignation, I’m ready to resign from Blades Creative Design Studio, at least for a little while. I’m ready for peace of mind, stability, financial security, life consistency, PTO, a steady salary, and those 🫰🏼BENNIES, HONEY🫰🏼

Thank you to everyone who has gassed me up the last several years. Again, this isn't the end, merely the beginning of something new.

Can I be vulnerable for a second? Ya? Ok. I'm a bit burnt out.

I think collectively, we all are. So far, this year has been filled with ups and downs, whether it's business, ourselves, or everything going on in the world - it's a lot for anyone!

With that said, lately, I've felt very disconnected from social media, and it doesn't feel like the right place to be for my business (at least right now).

I'm never a fan of forcing connections, including digital ones, so I'm going to cut myself some slack and take some time away to unplug from the noise of social media and refocus my energy.

Don't worry about me, though - this time away is already filled with so much joy.

Here are a few things I'm excited about in the coming months:
✨It's Blades Creative's birthday month! 7 whole years!
✨It's my birthday month - 31 years! (Time certainly is flying!!)
✨I have the privilege of continuing to work with my amazing clients that align with my brand.
✨My parents are coming to visit me in Austin (YAY!)
✨I'm starting the Work Womb Mastermind in August (more details to come)

Honestly, I am so excited about my time away - I'm excited to take time and reflect on my business, spend time with friends and family, and focus on self-care.

It's Cancer season, and this is typically a time to retreat and focus on yourself internally, so I'm going to do just that. HOWEVER, I won't be fully unplugged. I'll still be on my personal IG account (.blades) and Blades Creative's LinkedIn, so stay up to date with all things Gabby and Blades Creative there! 💫

Although Blades Creative's social media will be a little quiet, I will still be working and have space for new clients starting in July and beyond. So, head to my website ( ) and fill out our contact form, so we can get started on creating magic!

I'm not 100% sure when I'll be back, all I know is I will be. Right now, I plan to be back in August or September! It's been a BIG year, and I'm ready to take time away and return feeling rejuvenated and ready for action! 💕

Today is the New Moon in Cancer. This New Moon is extra special to me because it marks seven years of Blades Creative, and it’s my birthday month! The big 3 1 🤗

This New Moon is all about planting seeds, so I want to share my intentions for this month and set the stage for the upcoming month.

✨ I intend to manifest happiness naturally.
✨ I intend to see the goodness around me.
✨ I intend to love unconditionally.

During this time, we’ll find the power to own our most heartfelt needs and speak our truth. I encourage you to take the time to set your intentions and welcome this New Moon with open arms! 💕

We've taken the time to understand the story, the client's wants, and how they envision their brand.

While workshopping Alexa's brand, I learned so much about Cosette Consulting and her vision. Since we worked together in the past, we were able to get into a groove and quickly narrow down her brand into a few keywords:

✨ Outcomes
✨ Whimsy
✨ Stability
