The Texas Water Development Board has developed new guidance and report template to support third-party water loss audit validations. The guide, Third-Party Water Loss Audit Validations in Texas, provides information on validation requirements, certification expectations, reporting components, and available resources.

The guidance is designed to help utilities and validators ensure water loss audits are completed accurately and consistently in accordance with TWDB rules and state requirements.

The Texas Water Development Board, in partnership with the Bureau of Economic Geology, is working to improve groundwater use estimates across Texas, and groundwater stakeholders can help.

We encourage you to share a brief, anonymous survey with well owners whose wells are not metered and do not report pumping data. The voluntary survey collects basic well information that will help strengthen groundwater use estimates and support future water planning efforts across the state.
