Beginning today, GlobalAustin, in partnership with Meridian, is hosting an International Exchange and Leadership Program delegation from the Pakistan for a project titled “Promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Among Citizens of Different Faiths.”⁠

During their time in Houston, the delegation will be impacting the community by:⁠
• Examining U.S. religious diversity, freedom of religion and freedom of expression;
• Exploring the role of Muslim-American and other religious communities play in civil society;
• Meeting with stage and local governments, U.S. faith communities, and NGOs to learn how they work together to impact their local communities; and
• Focusing on the role of interreligious dialogue in religions pluralism in the U.S.

Beginning today, GlobalAustin, in partnership with Meridian, is hosting an delegation from Saudi Arabia for a project titled “Educating Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students.”⁠

During their time here, the delegation will be impacting the community by:⁠
• Gaining an understanding of educational options for deaf and hard of hearing students in the United States;
• Exploring literacy and deafness, including the methods of teaching English and American Sign Language to non-native deaf speakers;
• Examining the role of local, state, and federal government in educating children who are deaf or hard of hearing;
• Learning about training and certification for teachers of deaf and hard of hearing students and for ASL interpreters;
• Creating connections among institutions in the United States and Saudi Arabia to collaborate on education for deaf and hard of hearing students; and
• Exploring employment and the school-to-work transition for deaf individuals deaf culture, arts, and community in the United States.

Beginning today, GlobalAustin, in partnership with CRDF Global, is hosting a multi-regional delegation from Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, North Macedonia, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, South Korea, Philippines, Costa Rica, and Ghana for a project titled “Edward R. Murrow Program for Journalists: New and Traditional Broadcast Media II.”⁠

During their time here, the delegation will be impacting the community by:⁠
• Reviewing the history and importance of press freedom in the United States;
• Examining the structure, practices, and future of broadcast journalism in the United States;
• Illustrating how new technologies shape the way news is gathered, reported, distributed, and consumed; and
• Exploring the crucial role of responsibility and accuracy in reporting in a democracy.
