STG Design is proud to be participating in this year’s Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative Fellowship Program. This is a U.S. Department of State program that empowers young entrepreneurs aged 25-35 from Latin America, Canada, and the Caribbean by offering a 5–6-week program featuring professional development, U.S. business placements, and networking. This year we are pleased to welcome Bruna Tabajara Brillmann to our Austin office.

Bruna is a Brazilian architect who specializes in low-impact environmental design and co-founder of Sabiá Sustainable Constructions, an architecture and engineering company based in southern Brazil. Her work focuses on the use of natural materials and building techniques that honor local culture and ancestral knowledge, creating contemporary spaces deeply connected to place, community, and nature. You can check out her work at https://sabiasustentavel.com/

Welcome Bruna!

As part of our 50 for 50 campaign, we’re highlighting a project that reflects our firm’s approach to clean, thoughtful design aligned with client culture. Our work for Austin Ventures demonstrates how architecture can support both function and identity in a corporate setting.

Located on the top floors of the 300 West Sixth Street Building, the offices were designed to complement a significant collection of contemporary art. A 28 foot barrel vaulted roof runs the length of the space, creating a strong architectural presence.

Rich wood paneling defines the central core, while simple white perimeter offices allow light and artwork to take focus. A glass stair connects the two floors, reinforcing openness and uninterrupted movement throughout the space.

The result is a refined, gallery-like environment, professional, comfortable, and reflective of Austin Ventures’ national presence in the venture capital market.

As we celebrate 50 years of design excellence, we’re spotlighting milestone projects that helped define our identity. In collaboration with Pelli Clark Pelli, STG Design completed early site studies for T. Stacy Developers for a downtown Austin block between 5th and 6th Streets. What began as a smaller mixed-use concept—with retail at the ground floor and offices and condos above—evolved as adjacent parcels were acquired. The project ultimately reimagined the site as a central retail and restaurant spine, accompanied by two high-rise towers: one office and one residential/hotel.

While STG was not selected to move forward, this effort marked our first 4A high-rise pursuit—a formative step that propelled the firm into the high-rise sector and helped shape the trajectory of our work in the years to come.

Next up in our 50th Anniversary campaign, we’re spotlighting a project that reflects how thoughtful, people-centered design can nurture creativity and support growing learning communities, the art school at Laguna Gloria.

When the school’s programs began to flourish, it became clear that the existing campus needed room to evolve. Our team expanded the site with a new art studio and ceramics studio, each intentionally oriented to capture soft ambient light, the kind of natural illumination that encourages focus, creativity, and exploration.

These additions gave students and instructors purpose‑built spaces designed to elevate their craft, strengthen their community, and support programming for all ages. By responding to the school’s growth and its role in Austin’s cultural landscape, the project highlights our long‑standing commitment to designing spaces that nurture creative expression.
