I am the Marketing and Communications Manager, and a key part of my role is ensuring our alumni stories, community impact, programs, and events are shared broadly across the community.

I love running into Leadership Austin alumni out in the community and seeing so many alumni gathered together in the same place at our signature events.

Summer Goal: Eat every type of pasta in Italy this Summer.
Curent Hyperfixation: Tin Fish
If you can create a brand new olympic event, what are you bringing home gold in?

Meet Julia, our Partnerships Director! 😎
What do you do at Leadership Austin?
As Leadership Austin’s Partnerships Director, I build strategic partnerships with organizations, companies, and foundations that expand Leadership Austin’s capacity and resources, helping leaders connect, learn and create positive impact in our community.
Favorite part of your role:
My favorite part of my role is witnessing the moment a new partner realizes the might, beauty and influence our leadership community has. There’s a moment when it clicks and they understand that investing in leaders isn’t just supporting one program (or even one leader), it’s creating ripple effects across businesses, nonprofits, government, and neighborhoods throughout our community. Watching that realization happen in real time is incredibly rewarding.
Favorite Austin Spot:
ONE?! No. I’ve got three. 1) Ski Shores Cafe - I love taking my kids to this charming, funky-casual lakeside restaurant that delivers all the best stuff: top-notch people watching, non-aggressive geese that swim up to your dock table, a bomb fish taco and solid mocktails - al fresco! 2) The Aristocrat Lounge on Burnet - darts, shuffle board, mystery drinks and no windows gives me that local divey, moody vibe (bonus: the bartenders are mean, which I weirdly love.) 3) This would actually be number one, but recently my top favorite spot in the city recently burned down, the Troll in Pease Park. RIP, Malin 😢.
Summer Goal:
To drive my two hyper kids, extroverted husband, and 60-pound, 7-month-old golden retriever puppy to Michigan and back. For those of you doing the math, that’s 22 hours, 4,378 snacks, 11 trivia games and a dream.
Current Hyperfixation:
Ninja Creami’s. Every. Single. Night.
You can create a new summer olympic event. What are you bringing home gold in?
Fridge-Cleanout Meals. No recipe, no measurements, just questionable produce, strategic condiments and prayer.

Leadership changes communities.
The best leaders don’t just make it to the table. They save a seat for others.
Matt Pope at EDpact committed a $10,000 match for Leadership Austin’s Rising Leaders Fund to support scholarships for future courageous leaders.
Matt’s investment will help more emerging leaders access the Leadership Austin experience and build the skills, relationships, and courage to lead.
This is how stronger communities are built.
Thank you for investing in the leaders who come next.
