Getting emotional, because the next time I do a post like this we’ll have a one year old. Each month has brought so many new experiences, lessons, milestones & growth. Kane is moving and grooving his way around our house, he has 8 teeth, he’s clapping 👏, high fiving ✋, waving👋, and eating like a big boy (lord help us). He is silly as ever & truly is a ray of light in our lives. Every month he learns more and more & I can’t wait to see what the next month brings!
One year ago today, I was taking maternity photos with a big bump. Today, I got back our latest family photos featuring our 10.5-month-old!
To think a year ago, he was just some kick in my stomach. I spent my days getting ready for him, mentally preparing for delivery, anxiously awaiting to see what he would look like, how big he would be, and trying to learn as much as I could before his arrival.
No amount of daydreaming can truly prepare you for motherhood. It hits you like a punch in the face. But it is the most beautiful, humbling, and profound whirlwind ever. It’s morphed me in such a short period of time I can only imagine how much it will continue to teach me.
Looking at these photos—the bump then & him now—I wish I could tell my past self that the reality of motherhood is far, far better than the girl in the first photos could have ever imagined.

10 months of knowing this little angel on earth. He’s the best of us. Each month that passes we somehow learn to love deeper, to find even more joy & to expand ourselves more than we knew possible. Thank you for being the brightest light in our lives little guy.
