Doctuh Mistuh Productions with Haymaker Players is pleased to announce the ATX premiere of LIZZIE: THE MUSICAL. The award-winning Lizzie, with a score (music & lyrics) by Steven Cheslik-DeMeyer, Alan Stevens, and Tim Maner, is the story of the infamous Borden Murders and Trial of Lizzie Borden. According to lizziethemusical.com: “Lizzie is American mythology set to a blistering rock score with a sound owing less to Sondheim and Andrew Lloyd Webber than to Bikini Kill, The Runaways, and Heart.“ The cast is comprised of four women portraying the Borden sisters, Lizzie & Emma, the cook, Bridget Sullivan, and housemaid, Alice Russell.

Lizzie: The Musical will play at Austin Playhouse from July 14th-30th. Tickets will go on sale May 1st. Special events and theme nights will be announced in the coming months.
At present, the creative team includes director Michael E. McKelvey and music director Ellie Jarrett Shattles.

AUDITIONS: The producers are currently accepting video submissions for the roles of Lizzie Borden, Emma Borden, and Alice Russell. For submission information, please email [email protected].

Haymaker Players would just like to thank every one of you who came to support this show and make our first production possible. Thank you to the cast and crew who gave it their all and most of all, thanks to our audiences, who kept the twists and turns secret thru our entire run!

We at Haymakers were realistic with what our measure of success would be for our inaugural production. We knew we would likely lose money, but that comes with the territory of building a new audience with a script that no one has ever heard of before.

Well, because of you, we finished well into profit for this production thanks to the more than 300 of you who came out to hear this story.

We are happy to announce that we will back with another brand new show in the near future.
