But, really. đ
Less stuff means: less money wasted, less to clean, less to put back, less chaos, more fluidity, more calm, more control.
I wonât talk for too long on consumerism, but I worked in retail for over half of my life. Towards the end of my corporate retail life, I tried to push for any environmental or awareness approaches to offset all of it.
In a time where we are constantly being told all the things we âneed to purchaseâ, this is your reminder to buy less. Less stuff means more time back and more control over your space âđť

At the foundation of smooth home operations is organization and design that supports the individuals of the home. Where everything has a home for easy take out + put back, organized by activity, and reducing the amount of chaos these areas can bring. Youâll find kids will keep to the clean up process easier as well as use all of their toys when there is less to sift through. Bonus! Itâs looks so pretty when something has order đ¤Š
This playroom will grow with the 3 kids ~ giving a place for arts + crafts, reading, homework, games + family movie nights.

I donât know that I have the words. They all fall short of the weight of sadness and grief. Itâs unbearable to witness a city that you love so much, and even more than that- a city that holds so much of my familyâs history. A city I was born in.
Memories with my grandma, restaurants that my grandfather and dad sacrificed so much for, went to college in, got married in, continuously bring my kids back to, a place that holds so many people that I love, and a place where my heart feels at peace. A place I know we will go back to.
To watch one of the most beautiful places be burnt, broken and hurting. The family, friends and people who have lost their homes~ their place of safety and security, their place they were able to live in by sacrificing so much to build a life they wanted.
The grief I feel and guilt of going to bed in my home safely and tucking in my kids feels heavy. The empathy I feel for those impacted hits hard.
I donât feel like I can post exciting projects until I give this city and residents the respect it is owed, and the weight I hold.
This city is magic and holds some of my happiest memories.
There arenât words. LA, you have so much of my heart đ¤
My cousin is helping hold a clothing drive for people who have lost everything. Keep swiping for drop off address.

đ Parents of school aged children, get your snack pantry ready! Last few days of school before the winter break means constant snacking, and endless eating throughout the day. When kids are home, the pantry door is always ajar⌠make sure it looks pretty + is functionalâ¨
- Make kidâs snacks accessible for them to easily grab giving them independence {and, less yelling of âmom!â đ}
- Keep treats higher for them to become dependent in asking for a treat
- When replenishing bins, baskets or containers with new snack hauls~ move the older items to the front and new items to the back so youâll never have expired or uneaten food
{I hate wasting food!}
- overstock snacks go to the top of the pantry for easy refilling
*If youâre traveling for part of the holiday: I always travel with kids snacks for healthy options + leave my pantry stocked so itâs one less thing I need to do once Iâm back from a trip and before the whirlwind of school life picks back up
Live smoothly. Live beautifully.

Another of my favorite beautification elements is a tray. Simple add with maximum impact.
Each home tells a different story of travel, family items or new. I love to buy trays when I travel to bring different elements and color to a home. I also love repurposing clientâs trays or bowls in decor + function.
Whether itâs big enough for a TV remote, a small bowl to hold keys or jewelry, or a larger tray to help tidy otherwise free standing clutter. I scatter them where they are the most functional.
Truth be told, I have a really hard time passing up a good tray when I see one⌠I have a home closet that can attest.
Live smoothly. Live beautifully â¨

After & Before || Laundry + Hallway pt 2
This hallway & laundry were organized in tandem. This area serves as the family point of entry & exit. It is a key area in smooth home operations as it is the last and first area they see and feel when coming or going. Because of this, itâs important that this space serves the family.
Some new, some repurposed, some updated + some purged
~ Lots of hooks were added for easy hang up to keep the area free of clutter
~ catch all baskets added for easy cleanup, shoe storage + a process for put back once the the basket gets full
~ larger mirror to check yourself before leaving đ
~ key bowl + tray for an organized and elevated area to drop the little things for easy out back later
~ {always} fresh florals or plant to bring the beauty in
Reducing the feeling of chaos by making it functional and pretty. Live smoothly. Live Beautifully.

Tis the season to PURGE đŚ Holidays can create a hectic schedule, but it also tends to give some downtime too. Help get your closets and home ready for the gift giving season by donating kids items that are no longer used or loved. Bonus! It might even bring some realization of needing to purchase less for the kids gifts⌠maybe? đ¤ˇđťââď¸

Kicking off Thanksgiving week with a post of gratitude â¨
I started The Home Ops with a few goals in mind:
- the flexibility of being mom first {itâs a weighted scale day by day}
- replace my corp income with something that gives me energy instead of depletes it âď¸
- create something that doesnât give me a ceiling around professional growth âď¸
- employ full-time mom(s) who wanted an outlet outside of the home to make extra money âď¸
Golden lining I didnât realize I wanted so deeply:
- to feel seen in what drives me in so many ways âď¸
- Impacting others positively, especially in circumstances where I can take weight off their shoulders âď¸
- Client connection I use to feed off in my past retail life âď¸âď¸
I used to work for others as if it was my own company. Sacrificed so much, as so many of us do. I missed weddings, funerals, my daughterâs first steps⌠and while I donât regret pushing forward in my career, I regret not pushing myself earlier to see what I was capable of. The highs are highs and the lows are low of starting a company, but to be doing something that you feel you are meant to be doing is the most rewarding feeling. Where time away from my family doesnât feel wasted.
Taking this moment to feel grateful for this stage as I look toward the next goals.
THANK YOU for following me on this journey and supporting me and this jump. 1.5 years into ită°ď¸ I donât feel scared anymore, but so energized.

Guest Room Glow Up pt. 2
These chairs were this clientâs motherâs. I didnât want to reupholster them. I wanted to make them feel like they were always there. Everything else was built around them. While Iâm unapologetically monochromatic, I love mixing pattern on pattern to add richness â¨
