Looking for top-quality swim lessons for your child? The SafeGuard Swim Academy is here to help swimmers of all ages and skill levels gain confidence in the water! Whether they’re just starting or ready to refine their strokes, our experienced instructors will guide them every step of the way.

📍 Location: Tanglewood Pool, 9809 Curlew Drive, Austin, TX
📅 Sessions run for two weeks (Tuesdays – Fridays, 8 classes per session)
💰 In-District: $115/swimmer/session (Tanglewood residents)
💰 Out-of-District: $135/swimmer/session (Non-residents)

🐸 Tadpoles (Preschool Level 1) – Ages 2.5-4, water introduction & confidence-building
🐠 Minnows (Preschool Level 2) – Ages 2.5-4, floating, kicking & water safety skills
🐟 Guppies (Learn-to-Swim Level 1) – Ages 5+, first-time swimmers gaining balance
🦈 Sting Rays (Learn-to-Swim Level 2) – Ages 5+, learning freestyle & backstroke
🐬 Dolphins (Learn-to-Swim Level 3) – Ages 5+, mastering freestyle, backstroke & more

So far, 31 Texas children have fatally drowned in 2021. Your have responded to 7 drowning incidents involving children 5yo and under since the beginning of May and Travis County has had 1 fatal drowning this year.

In 2020 there were at least 80 fatal child drownings in Texas. It is estimated that there are 5-6 times more non-fatal drownings than fatal drownings.

Water is a great way to beat the heat but summer is also when children are most likely to drown. Drowning is a leading cause of accidental death for kids under the age of five and toddlers are especially at risk. And, drowning can happen in almost any amount of water, indoors or outdoors.

But, we can prevent these tragedies if we all watch kids around water! Never leave a child unsupervised around water, inside or outside of the house. It only takes a few minutes for a child to drown.
