Over time, our work has become more defined. Not in what we offer — but in how we understand it.

We’ve moved away from focusing on behavior as something to fix, and toward creating the conditions where clarity and partnership can emerge naturally between dog and handler.

That shift needed its own space.

K9 Dojo is where that work now lives.

If you’ve followed us here, nothing has been lost — this is simply a clearer expression of the same path, refined through experience.

If you are struggling to see the results you are looking for in training your dog, remember this:

Unless you are teaching specific competitive obedience commands, do not focus on correcting or rewarding -actions.-

You correct and reward -states of mind.-

Take Yoshiko here. He isn't doing anything wrong currently, but it is clear his mindset is about to lead to trouble. You can feel it just by looking at the picture, lol! If we simply stopped addressing him because he is no longer barking, or if we tried to "redirect" this, it would not end well at all. We have to address his state of mind.
Now, we cannot speak to his mind directly, so of course we have to correct inappropriate behaviors but remember the work doesn't end there. The goal is a change of heart, addressing the problem behavior is just a means to change his mind on something. Address the mind and the deeds will follow.
