Attention history buffs and map lovers! Join us for a special event at the Capitol Visitors Center!
Thursday, October 30th Presentation: From Austin’s Beginnings to an O. Henry Ending, Maps and the General Land Office will focus on the maps that were drawn or archived in the Capitol Visitors Center when it was the General Land Office Building between 1858 and 1916.
3:30 pm: GLO Senior Deputy Director for Heritage, Mark Lambert speaks about their incredible new book: Texas Takes Shape: A History in Maps from the General Land Office.
4:30 pm: Book Signing: Book available for purchase at the Capitol Visitors Center Gift Shop.
