On September 11, 2001, I stepped off the subway in New York City and joined the crowds staring up at the clear blue sky. We watched in disbelief as the Twin Towers burned.

The chaos, the fear, and the sense of loss that day changed my life forever.

Last month, I finally visited the 9/11 Memorial Museum. The experience was gut-wrenching, stirring both the horror of that day and the remarkable unity it inspired across the city.

The museum is a powerful tribute, honoring not only the lives taken but also the courage, compassion, and solidarity that arose from such horror.

The property itself is beautiful, with floor to ceiling windows in the lobby, and the olive groves pictured above were right outside my window. Some of the 17 rooms had classic Italian farmhouse styling, while others were more contemporary. And the food was OUTSTANDING! I ate my fill at every single meal— it was a true celebration of Tuscan cuisine.

This property is close in proximity to Monteverro Winery ( ) and the southern coast, making it a stunning destination with nearby vineyards for the perfect day trip.
