Join leading medical experts, including cardiologists and public health researchers, for a timely conversation on the emerging science around microplastics and the human body. We’ll explore what researchers are beginning to uncover about links to heart disease, inflammation, and other potential health risks–and what it means that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is now prioritizing microplastics as a contaminant of concern.

Microplastics might be a little larger than you think! What qualifies as microplastic is really anything between 5mm (the size of a grain of rice) to one micrometer. Anything smaller than one millimeter might be classified as nanoplastics.

Environment Texas is working hard to stop plastic pellet pollution, AKA “nurdles” which are a large, easily preventable source of microplastics in our state. Everyone should be able to agree that companies need to keep plastic pellets out of our waterways and should clean them up when they do spill. We just need Governor Abbott to act. Take action at the link in our bio.
