Chapter 9 of WTSGB is written!

As i figured, this was one of the easiest for me to write when i was able to actually focus on it and not get sidetracked. It did come out a bit choppy in places, but I’m trying not to worry about that just yet.
This was one of my longer chapters too. I’m not very focused on word count just now, simply just writing and caring the count goes up for now. I’m hoping in my future edits I can lengthen the previous chapters and smooth this one out but until then I’m proud of the progress I’m making. It’s not as fast as I was hoping, since I’ve been working on this for nearly a year but considering i was doing a lot of moving when I started and now I’m working on training and all, i won’t beat myself up about it.

Chapter eight of WTSGB is complete!
I’m admittedly proud of most of it, feel like I’m getting better with adding the characters doing things while talking. The ending did come out like a child story but I’ll blame that on being sick and fix it in future edits.

Hi hi yall, I’m still around just been all over the place.

As most yall know, i moved to Austin back in December and have been working on getting things set up so i can get the training for the blind that I missed out back at home. That’s all going fairly well, have had a couple O&M lessons and will be doing more in the city soon. I’ve also gone and had an interview for something called metro access. It’s a paratransit thing that you can schedule a day in advance and it’ll pick you up at your door and drop you off at the door of the place you need to go for just $1.75 per ride and I’m now waiting on them to approve my aplication so I can start going about the city more reliably.

I’m still babysitting my roommates kid, and he’s getting so big! I know I’m a rather short creature, but he’s up to my hip now, maybe a bit past and he’s not even two yet, so I know he’ll outgrow me by the time he’s five and I’m not looking forward to that. It’s hard to believe that when I met him he couldn’t even walk, but now he’s running everywhere and saying hi a billion times a day.

I’m still learning French. I truthfully haven’t done much in a while, but I started again today and remembered more than I thought I would so maybe thats a good sign, now lets hope I can stick to learning on a regular bases.

I’m still working on writing, though I’ve again not touched any of my WIPs in a while.
For WTSGB, the primary work, I’m going to try doing chapter 8 today, and maybe chapter nine but I’m not sure. There’s a few things I’ve got to change about the character for chapter nine before I can write her to much. When I created her I was in a very deep depression and her background showed that. I did edit it some a while back, but looking at it now that I’m in a better place mentally I can’t really make it work for the story, so I’ve got to change a few minor things.
I did start on another WIP Camp Mosaic, but admittedly got sidetracked creating family trees for the MC’s, but hopefully I can actually do some writing on it soon and not get sidetracked.
My third WIP, Luminary Academy is still being constructed. I have a few ideas of how I want it to go but I’m not completely settled on it so I haven’t done to much writing on it just yet.
I do have several other story ideas, but nothing concrete yet but I’ll keep yall updated.

I’ve also been sick since Friday, so I currently sound like a teen going threw puberty, but I’m awake and not sleeping constantly like this weekend, so thats something and I’m hoping to get writing done while I don’t have the demon child.

That’s enough of my rambling, hope yall have a nice day.

Clothes and shoes are stupid!

I decided to get a new pair of shoes cause i only had one pair that I had for years and I call my horse pasture and wood hiking shoes, cause thats what they were. With a toddler, three cats and me being blind and forgetful i lose them a lot so i ordered some from Walmart. I got my usual size, the size I’ve been in since i was like 14 or so and the size my current shoes and flip flops are. They came in today and their to big! Their children size three, how can they be to big! I’m 27, shouldn’t my feet have grown not shrunk or something?!
I’m keeping them though cause their comfortable and I’m about to be doing a lot of walking for O&M and they work with somewhat thick socks, but still their kids shoes, they should not be to big.

In other news, my flip flops have claw and bite marks, tiny chunks missing because Ember Quill, my psycho kitten decided they were fun to mess with.
I also found a book from when I was a kid that i loved and couldn’t find for years. It’s The Haunted School by R.L. Stine and I’m now listening to it again.

Chapter seven of What The Sea Gave Back is complete!
This was honestly one of the easiest chapters I’ve written. I figured it would be, when i finally stopped procrastinating, but it honestly surprised me at how easy it was. I don’t think chapter eight will be as easy, because it’s a different character than chapter seven, and I don’t feel as much of a connection to him despite how much I like the character. I’m determined though to write it because I’m so close to the chapters I desperately want to write. So wish me luck yall!

I have been struggling, again, with marketing. When an indie author says, "Check out my book!" it gets ignored, people see indie and thing, lower quality. Many people think we're trying too hard!

At the end of the day, short of spending more than I make in royalties, how do I promote my books? I get that many pages don't want the constant barrage of posts, but at the same time, it's hard to get the word out there.

On an entirely separate topic, readers who suggest our books are bad- heros!

That’s me with What The Sea Gave Back, I hate most of it so far. Going to keep going though, since this is just draft one.

Must. Keep. Going.

(It's normal to hate everything you've written in a story, it's one of the steps!)
