Today I participated in AISD’s workshop kick-off discussion on future school boundary changes. I know this issue is very important for many D5 parents and I will monitor it closely. The South Austin in-person meeting on this matter will be held on Tuesday, June 16 at 6PM at the Burger Activity Center.

Last night’s Mother’s Day Gathering & Fundraiser hosted by the Austin Moms Demand Action chapter brought the community together in support of gun safety advocacy and violence intervention across Texas. I appreciated the opportunity to contribute to their mission.

Wishing everyone a very Happy Mother’s Day. Feeling especially grateful for mine today.

Once again, Ryan Alter is siding with big special interests instead of Austin residents. Read my statement on today’s resolution.

Enjoyed supporting Clean Water Action at their benefit last night. Heard remarks from their statewide director Becky Smith and guest speaker Schuyler Wight on the importance of water stewardship an education in Texas.

Joined neighbors in Zilker Barton Hills yesterday to talk wildfire preparedness and evacuation planning hosted by Get Ready Central Texas. A lot of helpful information and a good reminder that being prepared matters, especially as climate conditions continue to change year after year.

Wildfires may not be something we deal with every year in Austin, but being prepared and informed matters.
Shoutout to Get Ready Central Texas (Let me know if this is correct to include) and our fire, police, and EMS teams for walking the Zilker Barton Hills neighborhood through what to know and how to respond.

Had a great time today with fellow precinct chairs at the monthly BASCA meeting. We discussed mobilizing voters for the May runoff election and heard from the new TCDP Chair, Jessica Cohen.
