🚒 Avon Fire Department Enhances Emergency Response with New In-Vehicle Technology 🚒

The Avon Fire Department is pleased to announce the installation of mobile data tablets in all front-line emergency response vehicles thanks to funding provided through the Massachusetts Community Compact Cabinet's Information Technology grant program.

These tablets will provide firefighters and EMS personnel with real-time incident information while responding to emergencies, including dispatch updates, mapping, hydrant locations, pre-incident plans, and critical building information. Having this information available before arriving on scene helps our crews make informed decisions faster, improving both firefighter safety and the level of service we provide to our community.

We would like to thank the Massachusetts Executive Office for Administration & Finance for supporting this important technology initiative through the Community Compact IT grant program. Investments like these help modernize local government while enhancing public safety for everyone who lives, works, and visits Avon.

This project is another step forward in our commitment to using technology to improve emergency response and protect our community.

Avon Fire Department Welcomes Six New Call Firefighters, Honors Members for Years of Service: The Avon Fire Department welcomed six new call firefighters and recognized several members for their years of service during a ceremony held Wednesday, April 29.

The swearing-in and badge-pinning ceremony took place in the department's Justin T. Powers Training Room. Department members were joined by family, residents and town officials to celebrate both new recruits and veteran firefighters who have served the community for decades.
