On June 11, we gathered with residents, community leaders, partners, and stakeholders to celebrate the groundbreaking of Candler Crossing—a project rooted in the belief that every community deserves access to opportunity, investment, and the resources needed to thrive.

For years, residents have shared their vision for this corridor. Yesterday marked an important step toward bringing that vision to life.

Candler Crossing will create new opportunities for families, improve access to fresh food and neighborhood services, and help strengthen the fabric of the community for generations to come. More importantly, it represents what can happen when public, private, and community partners come together around a shared commitment to the future of South DeKalb.

This groundbreaking was more than the start of construction. It was a celebration of possibility, momentum, and the people who call this community home.

The future is taking shape in South DeKalb!
