We are not responsible for someone else’s actions, but we are responsible for our own. We must strive to let God create peace within us no matter what the actions of others may be. We are required to be ministers of reconciliation; there is no more important qualification for discipleship than reconciliation (forgiveness). You can’t accomplish it without the Holy Spirit having residence in you; you can’t do it without the love of Christ residing in you…you can’t do it in your own strength. If you claim to know Christ and be in relationship with Him then the matters at hand are clear. We are all required to reach out to an extended hand, just as when we extended our own hands at that moment of our own repentance Jesus did not tarry but He instantly met us. Reconciliation is the essence of being a follower (disciple of Christ). It doesn’t matter who follows their flesh; for even sin feels good for a little while but following the flesh will always lead to misery and it is never justified.
