Azle High School

Azle ISD Athletics is excited to announce Rechelle Mata as the new Azle High School Lady Hornet Soccer head coach! ⚽

Coach Mata comes to Azle ISD from Little Elm ISD, where she served as an assistant soccer coach at Little Elm High School since 2023 and as special education department head. She has also served as a head coach in Wichita Falls ISD and an assistant coach in San Angelo ISD, where she was named TASCO Region 1-4A Assistant Coach of the Year for 2019-2021.

Mata was a four-year varsity player at Lewisville High School and played club soccer with DFW Tornados in the Lake Highlands Classic League.

Azle High School was placed on a brief hold this morning after a fire alarm was triggered in the field house. The Azle Fire Department responded quickly and cleared the building. The hold has been lifted, and normal operations have resumed.
