With freezing temperatures in the forecast, now’s the time to protect your home and prevent frozen water pipes. Follow these tips to stay safe and prepared:

💧 Keep the water flowing: Let cold water drip from the faucet furthest from where your water line enters the home. A trickle can prevent freezing!

🚪 Close garage doors: If water supply lines are in the garage, keep those doors shut.

🪟 Open cabinet doors: Let warm air circulate around pipes under sinks, but keep chemicals out of reach of kids.

🌡️ Steady thermostat: Keep your home at a consistent temperature, even overnight. It might cost a little more now, but it can save you from expensive repairs later.

✈️ Leaving town? Keep the heat on and set it no lower than 55°F.

🧣 Insulate pipes: Wrap exposed pipes to help shield them from the cold.
If your pipes freeze:
🧊 Shut off your home’s main water valve
🧊 Call a licensed plumber
🧊 Never use a torch or open flame to thaw pipes!
