Obsessive, compulsive, lovers of Poultry. You can NEVER have enough Chickens!

Hi all. I’m feeling terribly sad right now and need to clear my head. We just lost our sweet, baby girl Misty. 😭 Our recent rescue Rhubarb, a Black Mouth Cur puppy, snatched her up while she was innocently free-ranging.

Misty, perfectly named after someone amazing and dear to my heart, never recognized how truly beautiful she was. She could be so dainty and girly-like but when others tried to strong arm her, Look Out! She was naturally loving and so amusing, and always had the last chattering word. In spite of her petite size and inability to see well (due to her bouffant), she readily took up stance in protecting the underdog. Losing my precious babygirl, just makes me miss my beautiful friend all the more.

Believe it or not, I really do have a reason in sharing this loss with you… No matter how certain you are that your flock is safe, PLEASE don’t take predators for granted. A predator can be a spectacular hawk flying overhead, your 14 year old cat that’s been raised right along side your birds (or a sharp garden tool left out in the yard).

I literally hear it almost daily… My child, my dog, my horse, a raccoon or an opossum, etc., got my chicken, duck, goose or turkey. And honestly, I’ve often insensitively wondered how people can be so careless? That is, until it happens to you. It only takes one blind-eye second.

Rhubarb “Ruby” knows what she did was wrong, she’s been sulking since the moment that it happened. But is it wrong? It’s hard to discipline or punish our girl for doing what’s natural (to her). The fault is my actually my own, not the dog’s. I need to better train my pets, educate myself on their breeds (or species), and take precautionary measures far more seriously. I honestly thought I had but clearly, foolish pride overshadowed my common sense.

I don’t know if I’ll ever trust Ruby with our birds again though I will ensure that Misty’s passing wasn’t in vain. PLEASE hear me poultry pals, it’s our obligation.

Love & miss you Misty. ❤️

What's up Farm Friends! I'm excited to show off today's casserole additions... Sweet Stuffed Peppers and Creamy Lemon-Butter-Caper Chicken. Our house smells absolutely incredible right now!!!

The peppers are already in the stand fridge; the chicken is simmering and will be packaged by midday. Take a load off, dinner's ready. It’s time to start your celebration!

Hello PPR Farm Stand Friends! Thank you so much for your patience and patronage while we work out the kinks of our newly established Farm Stand. We've made a couple of adjustments in produce farmers as the others were simply too expensive in their organic pricing. Please rest assured that we don't markup ANY of our vendors products, each contributor dictates his/her own pricing. I believe everyone will be far more pleased with the quality and feasibility.

I absolutely LOVE all the suggestions and requests that we've received! Thus far, we've taken each suggestion to heart in:
1) adding Venmo to our methods of payment;
2) we're developing a monthly menu of our homemade casseroles; 3) will be adding Berry Cobbler and hopefully, Peach;
4) and our raw, unfiltered Honey, by the end of this week.

Our $35 Family Meal Deal seems to be the hot ticket! Treat your family to a cozy, ready-to-bake feast and take the night off! Our Family Meal Deal features a healthy, hearty, homemade casserole crafted from scratch, a vibrant, crisp green salad, and a freshly baked loaf of artisanal bread. Where can you purchase a HEALTHY family dinner for 4-6 persons for under $70? We currently have Hearty Chicken Pot Pie, Paco's Pork Enchiladas, Spaghetti Pie, and Lasagna Al Forno in stock.

Our cookies are back in stock too. I'm flattered that my fruit cookies, especially the raspberry & strawberry, don't last longer than a day or two... White Chocolate Raspberry; White Chocolate Strawberry; White Chocolate Confetti; and Chocolate-Chocolate Butterfinger w/ walnuts. YUM!

Our Floral Candle Bouquets have been extremely well received too, and I greatly enjoy making them! Although I'm certain I have stock in just about every color of the rainbow, if you seek a specific color or fragrance, please let me know. Each arrangement is completely unique and contains a minimum of 7 candles, in addition to dried flowers and greenery.

Lastly, for those purchasing any one of our 8 historical Sourdough Starter cultures, I apologize that our Starter Guide Hand-Outs were not in a more visible place. Should you have any questions or require any assistance is using your starter(s), PLEASE don't hesitate to reach out or pick up a hand-out. They are located on top of the refrigerator/freezer on the right.

Please stop by the poultry ranch and check out the Farm Stand. It's an Honor Stand, open Monday-Saturday, from 9am-7pm, Closed Sunday. As always, we look forward to seeing your beautiful faces and welcome your reviews, photos and suggestions.

Much Love,

KC (& Brad) Potter
