A quick update: I regret to say that things have been slow because the shop has been very unexpectedly closed due to a family situation. I was in fact able to do the prototype test fit over the weekend and the results were favorable on that front. That said I would like slightly less panel gap so continued work on the mold is necessary and as imaged below the unfolding did yield a small previously unseen imperfection. I will update Friday after the shop reopens and some work can be done on the hood. I also have another project that will get a much needed update as well.

Thanks as always and stay tuned.

It's been a while since I've done any updates and sorry about that. But the hood prototype is being polished and should be ready for testing fitting shortly.

More pics will be available once test fitment is complete.

Late update but I caught the plague that's been going around and then lost power last night. Around 5am this morning I finally got the final prototype out of the mold and I have to say it looks good! I'll clean it up, cut it out and get you guy some better images mounted on the car some time this weekend. I'll also get the weight, and trust me, it's crazy light!

As expected there is some yellowing and other issues which means this is not a version for sale. I tested a few different types of epoxy resulting in the yellowing in a few locations. This was just a test and not indicative of the final product.

Do however take note of the image of the weave notice it remains tightly packed and firm. You'll not see runs in the fabric or waves normally seen in wet layups. Our products are vacuum sealed to -30" (or better) and then epoxy resin in drawn into the mold via valved inlet veins. This ensures that the fabric does not move while the liquid epoxy is applied not during it's initial heat phase during curing. It also promises optimum saturation so that minimal epoxy is required for same strength.
Roughly 2 pints of epoxy are used overall to keep weight down.

Stay tuned for final test images and images of the first production hood that has some very unique features.
