Inspired by Anne Spencer, Harlem Renaissance poet, gardener, and visionary, Urban Roots Company honors the garden as a place of intention, sanctuary, and power. Anne Spencer’s home landscape was more than a garden; it was a living expression of Black womanhood, creativity, and resistance, cultivated with care and purpose.

That same spirit guides Urban Roots Company today, creating offerings that invite joy, self-expression, and meaningful connection, to the land, to ourselves, and to one another.
