A low ceiling and hard tile floors in some of those smaller Cecil County community halls turn a magic show into a shouting match if the sound isn't dialed in. I have spent years adjusting my gear to fight that specific metallic ring that happens when a voice bounces off a gym wall.

The sound behavior changes the moment the room fills up:
