This month’s Global Changemaker is Ruut Demeo ’20!

Ruut studied creative writing and music at Goucher. Her music and creativity inspired all and she received a Kratz Writing Fellowship and the Applestein Sweren Book Collecting Prize. Now, Ruut is the founder and president of Making Her Mark Foundation.

She says, “My nonprofit exists to strengthen women artists’ capacity as creators and community leaders; this is why it’s so incredibly fitting that I was able to pursue a career as a teacher, professor, and curriculum maker, thanks to my excellent education from Goucher College.” You’re making us , Ruut!

The Kratz Center for Creative Writing is to celebrate this year's Summer Writing Fellows! From dark historical fiction set in Baltimore to fairy tale retellings in Germany, these students are bringing a wide range of stories to life.
