Introducing kids and their parents to AI, while also tackling emotions, care, and responsibility.
Someone can copy your kid’s voice with 3 seconds of audio. Then call you pretending to be them.
Not a movie. Not a maybe. This is happening right now.
A sheriff in North Carolina just warned families after a parent got a call from their “son,” crying, begging for help. The kid was upstairs watching TV.
The FBI is talking about it. Police departments are putting out warnings. Scammers are using AI to clone kids’ voices from birthday videos, voicemails, even school play clips posted on social media, and calling parents and grandparents in a panic.
The fix? It takes two seconds.
A family code word.
Pick a secret word only your family knows. Never post it. Never text it. If you ever get a scary call from someone claiming to be your kid, ask for the code word. The AI clone can’t answer, because the scammer doesn’t know it.
Do this at dinner tonight. And then call your parents and set one up with them too, grandparents are the #1 target.

Do you know what to say when your kid asks about AI? 🤔
In our latest episode, Dhani Ramadhani, Harvard grad, tech expert, and mom of two, shares the exact moment her kindergartner caught her using AI and asked “Mommy, what’s Gemini? Who are you texting?” Her answer? “It’s kind of like a robot.”
She knew she could do better. So she built an entire framework for it.
Her THINK method gives you real language for real conversations:
T — Take time before you believe
H — How did AI get that answer?
I — Intention why are YOU using it right now?
N — Never share personal info
K — Keep your brain in charge
She also breaks down deepfakes, what kids should actually do if it happens to them, and why your child has more power over their AI future than they think.

This week’s AI for Kids episode might be one of the most important ones yet: “Why Parents Need to Be ‘In the Loop’ About AI — And How to Start.”
Parents keep telling me they feel behind. Not because they don’t care, but because AI moves fast and it’s hard to know how to keep kids safe without holding them back.
So I sat down with Julie Kelleher, former teacher, edtech pro, and creator of Like a Mother AI, to unpack what it really looks like for families to learn AI together.
We got into:
• Why “parent in the loop” isn’t optional
• How AI can lighten the mental load
• Which tools are actually safe for kids
• Simple steps that replace fear with confidence
If you care about education, tech, policy, or you’re raising the next generation, this one matters.
