Statement from Itineris in Response to Recent Announcement on Autism

At Itineris, we are committed to supporting the lives, rights, and potential of autistic adults. We recognize that yesterday's announcement may have been impactful for many in our community, especially for the individuals and families we serve.

As an evidence-based agency, we remain committed to grounding our work in rigorous, peer-reviewed science. At this time, it is important to note that no randomized controlled trials (the gold standard for medical research) exist to support the claims made in the announcement.

Itineris is proudly an anti-ableist organization. We do not view autism as something to be "cured", but rather as a form of human diversity to be understood, respected, and supported. Our mission is rooted in honoring the autonomy and dignity of everyone we serve.

As always, we encourage families to consult with trusted medical professionals when considering any new treatments or information. We remain here to support our community with integrity, respect, and evidence-based guidance.

Get ready to serve up some fun at the 4th Annual Itineris Tennis & Pickleball Round Robin Fundraiser on November 7th at Coppermine Bare Hills! 🎾 Dive into fast-paced Pickleball from 4 to 8 pm or swing into Tennis from 6 to 10 pm. All Pickleball enthusiasts are welcome, and Tennis players rated USTA 3.0 or above are invited to join the action. Whether you are a seasoned competitor or simply love playing for a purpose, your participation will help transform the lives of the autistic adults we support in our community. Come out for an unforgettable evening of spirited games and camaraderie, all while supporting vital programs that foster employment, independence, personal growth, mental health, and community connections.

Join us on August 22nd from 3–5 PM at Itineris for a Summer-themed Paint ‘n’ Sip! We’ll be painting “Sunset Cove”, a dreamy beach sunset viewed through a heart-shaped cliff, complete with palm trees, ocean waves, and vibrant skies.
