In case you missed us talking about Vacancy Reduction in Baltimore on BBC Radio yesterday, here is a link to the full BBC Newshour dedicated to Baltimore stories. Our story is at the end of the hour and features developer Salinda Adams, a new homeowner, and a long time resident talking about the impact of vacancy reduction. Jubilee President, Tracey Clark mentions the importance of the grants and incentives that help make the homes affordable for buyers.

There are so many partners in Baltimore working on this initiative that were not mentioned in the final edit. The program in East Baltimore Midway is possible thanks to Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development and their BVRI award to Central Baltimore Partnership, with support from Baltimore City Department of Housing & Community Development and an amazing 3.5% loan program made possible by Healthy Neighborhoods, Inc.

If you are curious about what is happening in East Baltimore Midway, reach out and we'd be happy to show you around and tell you more about the incentives available.

Tune in this Wednesday at 3:00pm EST to hear us on BBC World News talking about vacancy reduction in Baltimore.

We had the pleasure of touring the BBC around East Baltimore Midway. We introduced them to developer Salinda Adams who is renovating formerly vacant homes, a buyer who has recently purchased on 22nd Street, and a long time resident who has witnessed the changes.

Jubilee President, Tracey Clark will talk about all of the programs, grants, and incentives that have come together to reduce vacancy and make home ownership affordable for buyers.

Thanks to the BVRI program with Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development in partnership with Central Baltimore Partnership, a mortgage program that gives 3.5% interest rate to buyers from Healthy Neighborhoods, Inc., and support from Baltimore City Department of Housing & Community Development, buyers can stack multiple grants and down payment assistance to make homeownership a reality.

And there's more grants - Live Baltimore Buy Back the Block and Trolley Tour program and Johns Hopkins University Live Near Your Work Program that gives an additional $17,000 to buyers in our community.

To tune in you can log on to WYPR and click "live streams" BBC World on Wednesday at 3:00pm and see how they edited three hours of conversation into 8 minutes!
