Dear Friends:
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to request your consideration of becoming a life-changing donor to Project Pneuma. If you are looking for a gift for Mother’s Day to honor or memorialize the woman or women who impacted your life, consider a donation to projectpneuma.org today.

Founded in 2014, Project Pneuma is an award-winning and evidence-based organization that works longitudinally with boys in grades 4-8 who are experiencing social-emotional, and mental health challenges, and high rates of truancy and school suspensions due to conduct and impulsive actions/outbursts.

The mission of Project Pneuma is holistically into the boys we serve by challenging them intellectually, strengthening them physically, nurturing them emotionally, and uplifting them spiritually.

The need for funding is more critical now than ever. Most of the schools our boys attend are Title I (low income). With federal education cuts and an increasing number of young men eager to join Project Pneuma, we are seeking private contributions to sustain programming and expand our community reach.

We are currently serving over 100 students, many of whom lack essential support systems, live in incredibly distressed neighborhoods, suffer from a disproportionate number of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), and endure food and housing insecurity. We provide after-school services Monday – Thursday.

A typical three-hour after-school session includes administration of our Social Emotional Learning Curriculum, transportation (we pick up and drop off) for multiple host sites, a healthy meal, mental health support, yoga and mindfulness training, deep breathing techniques and focus drills, martial arts, physical fitness and field trips. We also provide in-school support to monitor behavior, attendance, and build a consistent presence with the boys.

We are endeavoring to raise $1,000,000.00 for 125 very deserving boys to have a better opportunity at life. Our yearly cost per student is $8,000 -an infinitesimal expense compared to the annual cost of $399,805 to incarcerate one boy at the Department of Juvenile Justice.

We are extremely grateful for our 11-year partnership with the Baltimore Police Department and the number of cadets we have worked with throughout that time. Most recently, the cadets and the Project Pneuma students gathered for our yearly fitness challenge and thoroughly enjoyed meeting these remarkable young boys!

Your generosity helps us provide these vital services to our amazing boys. Your gift demonstrates to our students that they have community support as they face challenges. Please consider making a life- changing donation to support our mission. You can donate online at www.projectpneuma.org;, by mail: at Project Pneuma, 25 W. Fayette Street, 6th Floor, Baltimore, MD 21201.

Thank you for considering my request. Your generosity and compassion will make a significant difference in the lives of these young men.

With Gratitude,
Damion Cooper, CEO & Founder

As we continue to celebrate Women’s History Month we could not move forward without recognizing Project Pneuma’s own, Carolyn Mozell, COO. After an extensive career as a public servant, Carolyn became the first woman to serve as Chief Operating Officer of Project Pneuma. As a strategist, connector, advocate, and clarifier, she spends her day ensuring the team has the resources and support needed to deliver and sustain Project Pneuma's programs with care and excellence. She oversees core operations and equips the leadership team with the tools and guidance to cultivate a workplace where staff feel valued, find purpose in their work, and perform at their best. All of the expertise Carolyn provides, enables our young boys to see the kindness and amazing leadership skills that women possess. Thank you, Carolyn, you are a shining example of women making history each day. .
