A contemporary Capitol Hill community with history: Beckert’s park is a mixed-use, Washington, D.C. development for which we designed signage, murals, and wayfinding in partnership with .

Entertainment, leisure, and community take the focus here, in a nod to the property’s history; George Beckert originally purchased the property in the 1850s and created a brewery and a public park known as Beckert’s Garden. Botanical artwork is featured prominently throughout the building’s interior, in a nod to the original public park. We worked this theme into the large-scale leaf patterns featured in our parking garage wall murals.

Our wayfinding signage features elegant framing and was inspired by the architectural moulding and casing details found throughout the building's interior. The bronze finish was fabricated to match those of the lighting fixtures and interior hardware.

The building offers many amenities, including a pet spa and bike room, so we created playful wall graphics to enhance these spaces.

Working in harmony: We recently strategized and redesigned the outdated wayfinding system in the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, home of the esteemed Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.

Our main inspiration was the architecture and legacy of the iconic building, originally built in 1982. Thoughtful details like signage panels that mimic the dimensions of individual bricks found in the building’s construction, and deep channel monochromatic letterforms in the performance space aim to pay respect to a much-loved musical institution.
