🎉👏 Congratulations to Michael Velaetis, PA-C, on being named Program Director of the Physician Assistant Critical Care Residency Program at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, effective March 1, 2026! 👏🎉

Michael is a critical care Physician Assistant within the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) and Oncology Intensive Care Unit at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Since joining the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine in 2015, Michael has been deeply involved in the clinical education and mentorship of PCCM fellows, Osler Medical Residency trainees, and PA critical care residents — with a focus on critical care medicine, bedside procedures, and point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS).

His dedication to innovation in Advanced Practice education was recognized through the inaugural Johns Hopkins Medicine Advanced Practice Opportunity Award for developing a comprehensive POCUS training curriculum.

Michael currently serves as Director of Ultrasound Education for the Biocontainment Unit and contributes to quality improvement initiatives focused on nursing-led mobility in the MICU.

In his new role, Michael will partner with Dr. Nathan Wright, Medical Director of the residency, to continue advancing the success and growth of the PA Critical Care Residency Program.

🏆👏 Congratulations to Jobby Kurian, PA-C, on being named APP of the Year by the Maryland Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP)!

Jobby was recognized during the 2026 ACEP Conference and Annual Awards Ceremony on April 30, 2026, for his outstanding dedication to patient care, leadership, teamwork, and advancing the role of APPs in emergency medicine.
