The Yellow Arrow Writers-in-Residence Program is a four-month residency for women-identifying writers based in Baltimore.

Since 2019, the program has offered structured support for writers to focus on their creative practice through mentorship, community engagement, while helping to carve out the time to write and develop new work.

Yellow Arrow Vignette LUMINATE has extended its submissions deadline to June 25. Now in its fifth summer, Yellow Arrow is delighted to continue its online series. We began Vignette to further expand our mission of creating a space for writers who identify as women, giving them room to have their voices heard and to ripple out in waves of empathy and resilience. Though open to poetry, we especially encourage submissions of CREATIVE NONFICTION and COVER ART.

Yellow Arrow Vignette LUMINATE is looking for poetry, creative nonfiction, and cover art by creatives who identify as women with a connection to the Baltimore area.

At Yellow Arrow, we believe in uplifting marginalized voices and supporting the intersection of womanhood. In this blog, Yellow Arrow Publishing 2025 intern Avery Wood focuses on giving a spotlight to independent presses and publishers that support or are run by Indigenous peoples, with a focus on poetry and prose, as well as history, heritage, and children’s books.
