We're saddened to share the following message from Principal Don Guthrie:

It is with a heavy heart that I share that I will not be returning to work due to a recent diagnosis of a permanent disability. This condition requires me to step away from my role with the firm.

I have been incredibly fortunate to spend 36 years working as an architect, fulfilling a lifelong dream. During that time, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside exceptional colleagues and clients on projects that have been both meaningful and rewarding. Many of these professional relationships have grown into lasting friendships, and I wish each of you continued success and fulfillment in the years ahead.

As my wife, Betsy, and I move into this new season of life and navigate the challenges ahead, we ask that you keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we remain hopeful for what the future may bring.

In recognition of Women’s History Month, we celebrate the leadership and engagement of our team in Women in Healthcare.

Women in Healthcare is an organization dedicated to supporting the professional growth of women across the healthcare industry through mentorship, education, and meaningful connections. Their mission aligns closely with our commitment to collaboration, knowledge sharing, and strengthening the healthcare design community.

Our healthcare sector is well represented within the organization. Kim Kavanagh, vice president and healthcare sector co-lead, has long been involved with Women in Healthcare's Washington, DC chapter and continues to actively support its mission of empowering women in the industry through mentorship and advocacy.

We’re also excited to share that Christin Troutman, director of interior design, recently joined the Maryland chapter board as sponsorship co-chair, and Amy Stetser, architectural designer, serves on the chapter's mentorship committee.
