The Central Baltimore Partnership lives a mission that honors this notion that sometimes art and beautification can be more than just inspirational; it can be life-changing and revitalizing. Focusing on commercial revitalization, community building, neighborhood quality-of-life improvements, and art activations, serving 11 neighborhoods and over 25,000 residents throughout the Baltimore metro area. As a Weave , they also provide support to other orgs in neighborhood partner networks to address common needs. Over 20 past Weavers Awardees have come from Baltimore, partially made possible by their support!

They see the as a crucial "tool to elevate and celebrate the resident-led efforts and relationship building that strengthen the communities we serve,” according to Aaron Kaufman, Director of Community Projects and Programs.

“On a personal level, I can’t wait for people everywhere in the country to be inspired by the stories and incredible things that people are doing in Baltimore."

“Ashley Wallace – who took the helm of The Central Baltimore Partnership in December – won’t name a favorite among the neighborhoods that nonprofit serves.

She will say some of her earliest time with CBP was spent in the Greenmount West neighborhood, where she worked with others to tackle the vacant housing crisis.

'It’s where I learned what true and effective community organizing looks like from its longtime leaders,” she said. “What intentional and equitable revitalization can really achieve. And how hard it is.'

The latter doesn’t dim her hopes.

'We have so much to look forward to during these really uncertain and challenging times,” she said. “And the more we can all come together as a community, the stronger all of our neighborhoods and families will be.'

Central Baltimore Partnership's new leader eyes more redevelopment - Baltimore Business Journal The new leader of the nonprofit says momentum is building along the Greenmount Avenue corridor.

We’re honored to be one of 25 Community Hosts across the United States selected for Weave: The Social Fabric Project, an initiative of The Aspen Institute, designed to help strengthen trust, connection, and belonging within communities. With $225,000 in funding, Central Baltimore Partnership will distribute 20+ microgrants per year to local change-makers.

In April, we hosted a Kick-Off event with former Weavers across our footprint to discuss the challenges, small wins, and impactful work taking place within Central Baltimore.

It reaffirmed the importance of uplifting our quiet, grassroots leaders who are already building relationships, bridging divides, and making lasting neighborhood impact every day.

As a Weaver Community Host, we look forward to sharing local Weavers’ stories, convening gatherings that strengthen community, and investing intentionally through this year’s round of microgrants.
