At approximately 5:02 p.m., the Annapolis Police Department, Annapolis Fire Department, and Anne Arundel County Fire Department responded to the 700 block of Newtowne Drive for a reported unknown medical emergency.

Upon arrival, firefighters located an adult male suffering from a significant head injury. Due to the severity of the patient's injuries, the Maryland State Police Aviation Command was requested, and Trooper 2 was assigned to the mission.

Anne Arundel County Fire Department Engine 8 established a landing zone at Annapolis Middle School, where Trooper 2 landed and assumed patient care. The patient was then transported to a local trauma center.
