Drum Lessons

I have always thought it necessary to have a drum set opposing a drum set for teaching. Almost crucial. Let all of us, go down the rabbit hole a little bit.

There are three main reasons. Numero Uno: Lessons usually last a half hour. Every second counts. This arrangement is going to streamline my teaching. Number Two: When a student hears something aurally, I believe it enters their brain and stays in their brain a different way (than reading it off a page). This is especially true for young men and women who are just starting out with written music. In my experience, there is something very important about the hearing/playing connection. Number three: I can play with the students as I teach. Playing does not equal a metronome but I feel that it reinforces what it is that I am trying to teach. And it is a different way to help students learn. And that's all I want, for students to learn.
