Friends, Neighbors, Visitors. as they say, All good things must come to an end. After much thought, We have come to the difficult decision that today will be our final day at The Opera House, Over the past few years the coffee landscape in Bar Harbor has changed drastically, while the Internet business has waned with the advent of smartphones, 4g networks and affordable laptops, This coupled with the listing of our building for sale has lead to this decision. When we started as an employees at The Opera House a decade ago, we never expected to own the business, or still be doing it 10 years later. We have enjoyed our time there, and much of that joy comes from you, our loyal customers as well as the many amazing employees we have had over the years. Huge thanks to our building owners April and Bruce Carlson, who had the confidence in us to make us managers years ago, and gave us the opportunity to own this great place and expand our business to include The Trailhead Cafe. We hope to see you all over at The Trailhead, where we will be, year round, from here on out. As a wise person once said, "No Goodbyes, Just good memories" We'll see you on the other side. -- Matt, Angel & Robyn.

So a successful test run/ opening day. Many thanks to the great guys behind the bar (Dan & Jacob) we will be open again tomorrow from 8 to 5. See you soon!

It is a test run. We do not have all the things going yet, BUT we have the doors open and frozen salted caramel lattes or frozen mocha..... We will be here until 5 pm today.

Update, We are working hard to get our building ready for the season, Due to some unforeseen circumstances (not the least of which is our Espresso machine requiring emergency surgery) we will not be opening for at least another week, Well have more of a prognosis on our machine on Tuesday.

As some of you may know, The building that houses The Opera House is on the Market, That means this will likely be our final season. We will be open Mid/Late May and will stay open through the end of our lease in October. In the meantime you can visit us at the Trailhead Cafe, 33 Cottage St. Thank you to everyone for supporting us over the years, we look forward to seeing you all this summer.
