Oftentimes it’s best to pause and “respond” to life as opposed to “reacting” in the moment. This time allows the anger and frustration to subside and then you can access the executive functions of your frontal lobe after you ride the anger wave back down, THEN respond accordingly. This is a very difficult thing to learn if it was not modeled as a child. Difficult, not Impossible.
