Rory Gile shared the following post Monday, Nov 17, 2025. Thoughts and prayers with the family! Attached is a picture of Rusty from a BHS yearbook.
For those who haven't heard, the Gile Family in Byron lost one of our own yesterday. Brother Rusty Marvin Gile, age 62, lost a year-long, courageous battle with ALS. Gone is his smile & wonderful sense of humor, but our memory of his love of our & his own family lives on forever in our hearts.

The Reiniche family posted this sad news.
Todd Calvin Reiniche was born on January 18, 1955 to Alta and Marvin Reiniche in Kankakee. He went to his Lord and Savior on the morning of Saturday, September 6, 2025 after a year long battle with cancer. He was 70 years old.
He went to school in Byron, IL, where he had friends and family. He had trade jobs, worked on a dairy farm, and was a long distance semi driver. He always offered to lend a hand. He was a hard worker and was hard headed. He loved big and bossed big. He enjoyed his beer and ci******es, and loved flirting with the ladies.
He moved to Florida in 2014 to live with his daughter, Hope, son-in-law Jason, and his grandsons Bailey, Gavin, and Jaylon. He lived closer to his son, Kodiak Sr, and his grandsons Kodiak Jr and Kaile who were only a town away. He enjoyed retirement and quiet living in his camper, and he absolutely loved baking in the sun. He always said if he didn't look like a black Mexican, he wasn't dark enough. He was a "funny guy," sarcastic, and loved making us laugh. He never focused on bad days, but tried to see the good. He cared deeply about his daughter and showed his love through both words and actions. He loved Jason and was so proud of him. He loved his grandsons with all of his heart and spoiled them often. He loved to teach them life skills. He was a true fighter and held on as long as his body would allow him. His daughter, Hope, lovingly cared for him until Jesus took him home.
He is preceded in death by both parents, his oldest brother Randy, and his youngest brother, Vance.
He leaves behind his only sister, Cindy Jennings (Ron), his children and grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was wild, fun, caring, and loving. He added joy to life. He will be so dearly missed.
*We would enjoy hearing some of your favorite memories with Todd, if you would like to share in the comments. ๐ฅฐ

Feel free to share any of your old Byron Days photos! Thought we needed some happy posts on this page so I borrowed this from Laurie Swanson Burnworth
February 15 at 7:14 PM post.
Ok, Byron Baby Boomer friends! Who do you think this pretty little lady is? Hints: You can see her house and garage through the fence. She has two siblingsโboth brothers. The street is South Lafayette Street.
According to my mom, if you guessed Barbara Gobin, you would be right!
