Elegantly Baked Cakes

Is the heat playing havoc with your cakes today? If only I could float away to Elsa land! (as my daughter calls it) Which reminds me, here's a collection of frozen cakes I made recently

This is the castle cake I made for my daughters 4th birthday in the end.. She was over the moon!

Here's an interesting conversation I had with my 3 soon to be 4 year old about her birthday cake for this weekend.
Me: Are you excited about your birthday darling?
DD: yes mummy. I'm really looking forward to it but remember when you asked me what cake I wanted? Well I would really really really love a cinderella Castle cake.
Me: but..but..
DD: pleeeeease mummy? (Angelic face)
(some fast thinking required as I have already made preparations for a royal carriage cake since she was not specific earlier on in the week)
Me: Alright darling... (panic panic)

I could feel a sense of resignation wash over me and the old excitement of creating something at short notice. Ahh the joys of parenting!

Why oh why is the good weather back just when i'm in the process of getting a wedding cake ready?!
